Romans 8:28, what does it mean? Devotional Commentary

By Practical Christianity Foundation, (PCF)

It is commonly held by most of us Christians that all that Romans 8:28 promises is that things will somehow turn out eventually for the better. All we need to do is wait, and if we can muster up some faith along the way, it might help.

However, a Spirit-led meditation upon the entire eighth chapter or starting with verse 25, reveals that the truth is, as the children of God called unto salvation according to His purpose, God Himself will work His good in all of the circumstances we experience as we continue with our life in His Providence. That means, instead of resigning to the process of how each circumstance may progress, we can be actively involved in the business of life as God orders our steps through the details of our experiences. We are not hopeless victims of events and circumstances. We are the redeemed children of the sovereign God Who is Almighty over all.

Here at Practical Christianity Foundation we believe that God has mercifully extended His Grace toward us and has given us His living and Holy Word to guide us in our journey in this world. We count it privilege to come alongside you and minister to you through prayer and the sharing of God's living and holy Word. Please contact us if you have any questions concerning your faith and journey as a Christian.
